Farzi was the first child born to Ameera Dasani and Miklos Defrin. He traveled with his parents, for the first part of his childhood, through the many lands of Sciri. He was only two years old when his brother Roland was born on the outskirts of the Zari jungles, and only three when his brother disappeared.
By the time Farzi was six, the family had traveled on to Hoi-Na. There were born the twins, Victor and Tirza. For another four years, Miklos and Ameera and their children remained in Hoi-Na. Finally, they moved on, journeying to Adaven and settling with all of their many followers in the mountains.
During the years in Hoi-Na, young Farzi took a great interest in matters of education and spirituality. Later, in Adaven, as his father struggled to unite the tribes, Farzi introduced among them a simple sort of gentle spirituality, involving much prayer and meditation. It was thus that he le to the eventual downfall of the Empire, as in centuries ahead, the people would become even more absorbed in his traditions of constant meditation.
Farzi often felt that he had failed as a leader to his younger siblings. He never came to approve of his sister Tirza's love for the wizard Ioan, but he tried to accept it as a part of the family life. And when his younger brother Victor led an abortive attempt to capture the throne of Gasmei for their family, Farzi counseled restraint, and yet Victor went on and was tragically killed.
In his later years, once his father's experiment of uniting Adaven had failed, Farzi retreated to his sanctuary, a small temple to the Goddess Trith which he had built on the coast of the Istak Sea.
